Do the planets fit between Earth and the Moon?
Beta Beta: not reviewed yet, and there is no video for this one.
A popular claim says all the other planets would fit in the gap between Earth and the Moon. Here they are, lined up at true scale.
Measured from the middle of Earth to the middle of the Moon, as the claim is usually worked out. On a phone, swipe the strip sideways.
The planets start at Earth's centre, so Mercury and part of Venus sit inside Earth's outline. The Moon's distance varies because its orbit is an oval.
